Whoo-hoo holidays! We had a great time seeing both sides of the family. All good people and we had a wonderful time.
I'll probably do a later post about a couple of the new machines in my workshop. It feels really good having both my folks and my wife's parents believe in what we're trying to do, to have their support.
The following pictures are a new project that I'm really excited about. I messed up on a pipe I was working on, and had to cut a section of the bowl off. I was just fiddling with the chunk later, and slid it on my finger. It was a perfect fit. That moment triggered a burst of sanding and filing. The larger one is for me, and the smaller is for Jess.
I'm making a few more for friends, and to figure out what I'm doing with them. I need to try some different sealers to keep the rings from getting wet. Briar absorbs water very well, and doing so will warp them.
I'm hoping to open a 2nd shop in the next month or so for my other wood projects. Until then I'll be opening some new sections in my pipe shop for these. Be expecting them sometime in the next week or two!
